WSHL--- Getting kids out on the street and on their feet!

Welcome to the Weymouth Street Hockey League

WSHL Mission

Our mission is to have our kids unplug from all of the technology that surrounds them on a daily basis and connect with their peers in a safe, healthy and positive environment.

Letter from the President,

Thank you for taking the time to familiarize yourself with The Weymouth Street Hockey League. Without you our league would not exist and appreciate you for entrusting us with your children. From year to year we are doing our absolute best to improve upon what worked and learn from what didn't.  As you can imagine as we expand there may be some shifting in our programming to accommodate our new members. We will again be calling on your patience as we continue to solidify our program. Please, rest assured that your child's safety is our number one concern, but building memories is a close second!

Here's to another great year!!
Michael Gavin, WSHL President

Frequently Asked Questions

LEAGUE Rules and Regulations

Both of my kids want to sign up for street hockey (2nd/4th grade).  I was just wondering if you could tell me when street hockey games are scheduled? Do they have a weekly practice?  Both of my kids play soccer, and my son is also signed up for baseball. I just wanted to make sure there are no schedule conflicts.

We price our league to act as a secondary sport and we do our best to work with the other leagues to avoid conflict but sometimes that is unavoidable.

The games are played on weekends and slated to start the first weekend in April and go through the end of the school year.

There is usually one practice at the beginning of the year and after that it is optional for the volunteer coaches to hold practice.

Last season very few coaches held a weekly practice, and those would not be mandatory.

As with any busy family, conflicts will certainly arise and just like you,  we just hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

Can they wear a lacrosse helmet?

Here is a list of WSHL Equipment

A lacrosse helmet is not recommended but can be used as a last resort.

The safety of the players is our #1 concern.

If you cannot find a helmet reach out and we can work on getting one for our players.

Comfortable sneakers. NO rollerblades

What day are the games on?

Most likely Saturday and Sunday's

Where are the games played?

Stella Tirrell Park

Do they also have practices?

Practices are up to the volunteer coaches discretion.

Can you give me the possible times as we do go to church on Sundays?

Anywhere between 9:00am- 3:00pm

Please keep in mind with over 40 teams days and times will most likely differ from week to week.

How many kids on a team?

We try to keep the numbers as low as possible… max is 15 (unless extenuating circumstances)

What is the deadline to sign up for the April start?

Registration ends on January 15th.

After that a $25.00 late fee will be implemented with no guarantee of being placed on a team.
