American League - Mad River Purple

The Grape Apes of Mad River traveled to Waterbury last night for their first away game. It was a close game through the first three innings with Waterbury holding a 1-0 lead. The Grape Apes threatened twice with a runner at third in the 2nd and 4th inning but were unable to drive the run home. Waterbury put 3 more runs on the board in the 4th and that was that. Rye Purdy-Greig, Ryan Lacey and Wyatt Babic all pitched very well with the three pitchers getting 9 strikeouts.
The Grape Apes travel to East Montpelier tonight for their second of a three game road trip. Jesse Carst and Nolan Larkin are scheduled to pitch.
