A question we get asked a lot as an organization at all levels is what size bat their player should have. Here is some info for those of you wondering.

There are two pieces to this puzzle, what overall length the bat needs to be and what weight the bat needs to be. Length guides are the same through all the levels of play, generally if you have your player reach their arms out to their sides and measure from the middle of their chest to the tip of their fingers, that’s a good length for them, see the images below for more info. As for the weight, that is something which differs throughout the levels, you can find that info on the website here https://www.mchenrybaseball.com/Default.aspx?tabid=715296

Shetland/Pinto Only: Most bats that say "T-Ball" are what you're looking for at Shetland age, usually the cheapest and typically only in a couple different lengths. If your player has moved up from Shetland consider upgrading to a bat that is not designated for "T-ball" as those bats are not meant to make contact with a higher velocity ball. They will work by all means and most likely won't break in Pinto, but we've seen them dented pretty often depending on the batter's and pitcher's strength.
