TRYOUT INFORMATION
Real Colorado is committed to empowering each student – athlete with the skills to reach their greatest soccer potential. Our staff recognizes that each player has a unique set of attributes and goals. Our objective as a coaching staff is to accurately evaluate the ability of each player and to place them on a team that will promote their greatest development.
Level of Team
Real Colorado begins the selection process of grouping together like ability players at U9 and U10 in our Junior Academy followed by our competitive at U11. There are several levels of teams within each age group. Each level of team is referred to by its own distinct name. All teams require a commitment to the team, a consistent work ethic, support of the coach and club expectations.

Registration
Registration for tryouts will be done through our new registration platform, which will be accessible in April.
Evaluation Process
Field Players are evaluated on the following:
- Technical Abilities – Receiving and First Touch, Dribbling (Control and Speed), Finishing, Passing
- Tactical Abilities – Decision making, Communication, Defending
- Physical – Strength, Overall Speed, Aggressiveness
- Mental – Desire, Competitive Spirit, Work Rate
Goalkeepers are evaluated on the following:
- Technical Abilities – Handling, Diving, Dealing with Crosses/Breakaways, Distribution, etc.
- Tactical Abilities – Communication/Organization, Positioning and Angle Play, Dealing with Set Pieces, etc.
- Physical – Agility, Coordination, Strength, Explosive Movement, Stamina, etc.
- Mental – Desire, Competitive Spirit, Work Rate, Composure, Resiliency, Aggressiveness, etc.
Important Notes
Event Cancellation: Should a day of tryouts get cancelled due to weather, we will reschedule for the same day/time/location of the following week if needed.
