Gators....Welcome to the 2014 Season!

Welcome to the team...the green team...the Gators!

We have twelve players -- all either 4 or 5 years old....some players are in year 1 of t-ball and others year 2.  Half of the boys live in Nesconset and half live in Smithtown or St. James.

Practice 5:30 – 6:30 Wednesday, April 2nd at Mills Pond School.
Uniforms will be distributed that day. There is no need to go anywhere to pick the uniforms up -- pants and shirts will be provided at practice.  The hat may not be available until April 6th.
If anyone on the team needs to exchange the size of the pants, I do not believe there will be any problems.  The swap will be done at the parade. Only pants will be exchanged for bigger or smaller sizes; not the shirts.  Hats will be given out at the beginning of the parade.  If interested, parents are welcome to place their child’s last name on the back of the shirt. However, that is not necessary.

Opening Day: April 6, 2014, 12 noon-3pm  Gaynor Park
(Family BBQ, skills competition, parade).  No costs, entire family welcome -- great day for the kids.

Mills Pond is the site of all games and practices.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach me by cell phone (631.988.5929) or email ([email protected]).  In the event that your son is unable to attend a practice or game, never a problem, please send an email, text, or leave a message.

If you are interested in helping out with the players and team -- great, please download a volunteer form from the SJSLL website and bring it to practice or the parade.
If you decide to assist in the field or with the kids in any way, we’ll need that completed and submitted prior to your involvement.  Any and all parents welcome...no experience necessary!

All players need a glove and their own water bottle each practice or game.  It is a good idea for your son to have a backpack or bag to keep his glove and water bottle, but not essential.  Without a bag, please make sure the water bottle is distinctive or labeled. Our team has been provided with a few helmets, bases, balls, and a bat.  Some players choose to use their own personal helmet or bat and that is fine but again not necessary.  Dick’s Sporting Goods and St. James/Smithtown Little League were extremely generous with equipment.

Looking forward to a
great season. J
