u14s place 2nd in Spring Gold League

U13s go undefeated, win Apple Classic

The U13 girls defeated Pleasanton Rage 2-1 in the semi-final(scorers Zoe Macknicki and Elsa Nolen) and went on to win the championship 3-0 over Empire SC on a hat-trick from Thea Trout.

Coaching staff singled out goalkeeper Amelia Staiano(one goal allowed in 4 games) and new player Maritza Ornelas(played her role to perfection) for special mention.

The U13s kickoff league play October 8th and 9th in Tiburon.

U12s clinch league title with 2 games remaining.

This past weekend, the u12 team travelled to Napa, winning 3-0 on Saturday and 6-0 on Sunday. They have not conceded a single goal in league so far, while scoring 22, and have already earned at least a share of the Championship with 2 games remaining. One win will see them through to 1st place outright.

Update: With a Briceno loss the U12s are league champions, with two games remaining.

Goalkeeper Amelia Staiano now has 6 consecutive shutouts, a total of over 4 hours play without a single goal being conceded. The offense had 5 players weighing in with multiple goals and assists in Napa.

U12 move into first place in Spring League with (2-0 and 4-0) wins at North Coast FC.

Our 2004-2005 team (mostly u11 playing at u12) have opened up league play with a blistering 4 and 0 record.

Goalkeeper Amelia Staiano has led the way with 4 consecutive shutouts (nearly 300 minutes without allowing a single goal)

This weekends goals in Petaluma were scored by Elsa Nolen(4), Seri Welsh(1) and Zoe Macknicki(1)

U11 team closes out Nor Cal Premier league in style: 2 wins and becomes league highest scoring team.

The rapid rise of our u11 continued with a classy finish to the season at Trione, home of Santa Rosa United, who are the closest "Nike Premier Club" to us up here. AC Samoa shocked their hosts to go 2-0 up in 5 minutes, and took the first half of the double header 4-0. They followed up later in the day by edging it 4-3, in a much tighter game that came down to the wire.

"The 4-0 win against a real 'soccer club' was easily the teams best ever performance" according to the Coaching staff, and most parents would agree. The defence was simply outstanding, so that SRU , with all their Academy-trained players, simply could not get much going.

The offensive trio of Elsa Nolen, Thea Trout and Zoe Macknicki are responsible for 95% of the 38 goals racked up in 10 games (highest in the division). The team will finish 3rd or 4th in their 7-team Division.

U11 finds their "GOALden touch"

Our youngest team (birth years 2004 and 2005) have been working hard on GAME FITNESS and "attacking ideas". All the practice hours paid off with 20 goals scored in the last 4 games. A 6-5 loss a week prior (to the first place team -Empire SC) was a sign of things to come. The "front runners" were on fire again in 8-1 and 6-1 wins vs Napa (in Napa) .
The main reason our forwards were able to stay up and inflict so much damage was (a) improved fitness and (b) a defence that held firm and won the ball further up the field.
Goals were recorded by 5 different players (out of the 9 on the field).

U11s take 4th in Medford

The Rogue Valley Cup is the "traditional" end -of- soccer year event.
Our 4  teams played 5 games each  over 3 days. With well over 150 teams from 5 states, the fact that Samoa took home three 4th place medals and a 2nd place is truly remarkable.

U11 showed emphatically how much they have improved over the year, by reaching the 3rd-4th playoff game. Special mention to our two keepers, MeiLi and Amelia, who provided the platforms for our wins at Medford.

Yang scores 8 goals in win, losses for AC Samoa U11s

Kallia Yang of Alice Birney Elementary in Eureka scored 8 goals in 3 games at the weekend as the AC Samoa Under 11 Girls soccer squad recorded a 5-4 loss vs (first placed)Empire Blue Storm in Santa Rosa, a 5-1 win vs North Coast FC (Windsor), and the only goal in a 7-1 loss to Rohnert Park in the 3rd game of the Nor Cal Premier League(Silver) road trip.

Coach's comments: in truth this was a much much improved team-based performance from our youngest team. However, 8 goals(including 2 hat tricks) cannot go without a mention, and half of her goals were scored in losing situations: this girl will be big news!
