Gretna Basketball Association

Competitive League

The GBA has designed its competitive program to help kids further develop the fundamental skills that the GBA Fundamental League focuses on. The competitive program creates the opportunity for kids to compete at a higher level and pushes them to become better fundamentally sound basketball players. This program will place teams in competitive leagues and multiple tournaments, and will generally feature one practice per week for younger teams, and two practices per week for more experienced groups. The competitive program strives to prepare them to one day be a part of the Gretna High School basketball programs.

The Competitive League season will extend from October through March.

Benefits of the Competitive Program

A Few Great Reasons to Join GBA

• The Gretna Basketball Association was created by Gretna staff and parents, for Gretna children. It was founded as a feeder program for the high school basketball programs, and both high school head coaches are involved in the organization.

• GBA is able to offer Gretna families the most competitive fees around for kids to play for select basketball teams that compete against teams throughout the metro and beyond.

• The GBA competitve program is the only basketball organization that includes regular training sessions at the Hoffman's Hoops training facility in Gretna as a part of the program fees.

• Our teams don't only focus on winning games and tournaments. Coaches work hard to instill fundamentals that will benefit players for years to come.

• As an organization we are active in the Gretna community, including offering $2,500 in scholarships each year to qualified Gretna High School seniors who had an association with the GBA.
