ALL STARS Tryouts for 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U Sunday, May 20

WEST DUNDEE, Ill.,  May 15, 2018-- Tri-Cities Little League will be hosting this Sunday, May 20, 2018 our League's All-Star tryouts at Randall Oaks Recreational Center playing fields for 8U-12U players.
All-Stars is a special time of year for Little Leaguer's across the country.  This is when each Little League fields a team at each age level (ages 8-12, then Intermediate and Juniors for baseball, and the equivalent teams across softball) to represent their league in competition against the other Leagues in the District, Section, and State.  The biggest highlight is at the 12U level, where they compete for the national championship on ESPN in the Little League World Series.

Tri-Cities has a proud history of fielding some competitive teams for state competition.  In previous years, all teams saw success including 2 state champions, and our League gets compliments each year on the quality of play, the politeness of our players, and how our families all cheer for both teams and NEVER are "that team" that no-one wishes to play (due to poor sportsmanship from the stands).  These teams are showcased on our Wall of Fame at Randall Oaks.

TCLL also has a history of fielding multiple teams if the talent pool available makes sense.  When this happens, it is not uncommon for the TCLL players to see each other in the deciding game for who advances to the next level of play.  TCLL also has a history of seeing plenty of new faces on teams each year.   A lot of players develop later in their baseball careers, so if you haven't made the team in years past, please come out again this year!

All-Stars is a commitment.  Our coaches will practice often and hard, and the games can be many.  An All-Star player needs to commit to making all the practices and games, and family vacations need to be postponed until the All-Star season concludes (around the beginning of August).  The League will announce the players that made their All-Star teams around June 6th or so (there is a specific date Little League will give us the first week of June telling us when announcements can be made).
