CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Intermediate Kripalu Yoga is ideal for those with an existing yoga practice. It includes sustaining some challenging poses while moving through others in a flow-like sequence (vinyasa). It is taught at a moderate pace and assumes students have enough familiarity with postures to self-modify. Through this “meditation in motion,” students cultivate mental focus, strength, and flexibility. Classes come     to a close in savasana with a well-earned Yoga Nidra! Classes held Monday from 6:30-7:45 PM.

Family Yoga is for children (ages 5-12) and their caregivers. In this gentle yoga class, students will focus on breath, body awareness and self-care.  Each class will include a guided breathing exercise, gentle warm-ups, poses to increase balance & flexibility, relaxation and meditation. Classes held Wednesday from 3:30-4:30 PM.

Teen/Tween Yoga is for kids ages 13 and up who will focus on breath, body and self-awareness, self-care and self-worth.    The class is designed to help students become aware  of their thoughts and more connected to their bodies so they can bring a sense of order and ownership when they feel fear or anxiety. Classes include a guided breathing exercise, gentle warm-ups, poses to increase balance & flexibility, relaxation and meditation. Classes held Wednesday from 5:00-6:00 PM.

Beginner/All Levels Kripalu Yoga is for anyone new to yoga, as well as for those who enjoy a slow steady pace. Poses are built from the ground up with clear instruction, a variety of modifications, and props that provide physical support. Known as “the yoga of compassion,” Kripalu yoga encourages students to focus inward and cultivate self-acceptance. Through postures, breathwork, and guided relaxation, students will stretch and tone the body, quiet the mind, and move the inner self toward stillness. Classes held Thursday from 6:30-7:45 PM.

Gentle Yoga focuses on modified poses and a gentle approach for relaxation. Whether you are brand new to yoga, desire a simple pace, or would like to return to the fundamentals of yoga, this class is for you. It is designed to meet you where you are and helps students understand the holistic science of yoga and how to incorporate it into their everyday actions. Classes held Saturday from 8:30-9:30 AM.
