Great Strides Boys - State Champs; Girls State Runners-up!

What a GREAT end to the season! Our boys are the State Champions for the 4th time in a row!! Luke (not seeded to win) ran an incredibly disciplined and smart race, carrying out his strategy flawlessly. He definitely earned the individual Club State Champion title! Our girls had faced Alpha Crush earlier in the season and their team was just too strong so we knew we were racing for 2nd. That’s the thing about Great Strides kids - I’m telling you - they are not just regular kids

. Every one of those girls gave every last ounce of effort they had and they were passing Alpha Crush girls up the finish stretch one after one! I guess our season’s motto of “never settle” came into play in full force! Their performance was so amazing that the Alpha Crush coach ran up to me and said “Did you do it?!” It turns out that they got us by 1 point!! When you consider that it was supposed to be an easy win for them - we are just so incredibly proud of our girls! Even their coach said it was the race of the season and how well our girls ran! This is what it’s all about! Team work among runners and camaraderie among teams! To top the day off (As if our first and runner-up trophies weren’t enough already)- the team also won the Grand Champion Trophy for the lowest combined team score. All in all, it was a GREAT season, with GREAT kids (who made GREAT STRIDES), GREAT parents, and best of all we all made GREAT memories!
