Coach Brian

Brian has been coaching or teaching some sport or other for the past 30 plus years. Whether teaching horseback riding, coaching football, soccer or volleyball, he realizes that the key to coaching is instilling passion for the sport in every participant. Kids need to want to play the game and have fun while doing so. If they are not challenged and having fun in every practice and every game, they will lose interest, and the roots of passion for the sport are lost. This is his 9th season coaching with GORC in Anne Arundel County's Rec Volleyball league. Every one of his teams has excelled and led the county in their respective divisions, from 10U to 14U. Brian began playing volleyball in 1989 and fell in love with the sport immediately. Whether playing 6 on 6, quads, trips, or beach doubles, he has a deeply rooted passion for the sport and loves teaching and sharing the sport with others. “We need to instill a passion for each endeavor by celebrating individual accomplishments while maintaining the overall importance of the team concept. Players need to know that the team is only as strong as the weakest link. They need to strive to strengthen and lift each other so that there is no weak link.”
