Prestonwood Sports Organization

Prestonwood Sports Organization (PSO) offers children's and adult sports programs and leagues in Plano, Texas. Our Sports & Fitness Center is equipped with cardiovascular and weight training equipment and an indoor walking/jogging track.

Children's Sports

PSO Baseball/Softball was established in 1999 to provide an opportunity for children to learn about baseball, sportsmanship and teamwork in a loving and supportive atmosphere. PSO focuses on developing the essential fundamental skills while providing fun and competitive games. Our focus is not on winning as much as learning the game. To this end, we require that all players have an opportunity to bat and play defense in every game.

The PSO Basketball League provides children with a safe environment to improve their knowledge and skill in the great game of basketball.

Our pre-K–grade 2 divisions play cross-court games on short, age-appropriate goals with coaches and volunteers as referees. No score is kept at this level and there are no league champions recognized.

In our grades 3–6 divisions, we play on a full court, use certified referees and regulation goal heights (grade 3 plays on 9’ goals), keep score, provide standings and, in general, present a situation that could involve competitive pressure. An end-of-season single elimination tournament is played to crown a champion of each division. Trophies are given to each player on the first- and second-place teams. We allow formed teams at every level. Some players will come in on a preexisting team while others will come individually. We encourage both, and strive to create a balanced and highly competitive league.

PSO exists to share the life-changing message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the vehicle of youth football. Our desire is that youth football players from across the Metroplex would have an opportunity to know Christ personally, learn to play football the right way, and learn valuable life lessons that can be taught through youth sports.

To accomplish this mission, PSO offers several youth football leagues from flag football for younger children to full contact, tackle football for older children.

PSO Cheer combines teamwork, precision, physical skill, balance and routine, all under the umbrella of enthusiasm. Teams compete in this fall sport through lots of practice and hard work during cheer clinic, regular season games, playoffs and championship games.

Summer Camps

When school is out, summer sports camps are in! Registration opens in the spring for the camps, where kids can focus on their selected sport, improve their skills, and work as a team in a fun and competitive environment. Prestonwood Sports Organization summer sports include football, basketball, baseball, soccer, futsal, cheerleading and cheer dance.

This mentoring and ministry program teaches and exemplifies godly manhood to boys from single parent homes, using outdoor activities and the men of Prestonwood committed to making a difference in the lives of boys. Adult Sports

Several opportunities are available to get involved in PSO Adult Basketball. Registration opens in January for Men’s 18+, Men’s 25+, Men’s 39+, and Women’s Divisions. Teams have a minimum of seven players, including a captain, and each division has an end-of-season tournament. “Never Too Late” members may play men’s morning basketball pickup games Monday–Friday. Lunchtime pickup games are usually available on weekdays.

PSO offers adult softball in either men’s or coed leagues. The league is governed by the official USSSA rules and any amendments that are specific to PSO’s leagues. Games are played at our recently renovated facilities at Prestonwood Baptist Church and officiated by professional umpires. PSO recently upgraded our fields with “field turf” to ensure the best playing experience possible.

Indoor Volleyball

Adults 18 and older can have fun with coed volleyball in the Sports & Fitness Center during the March through May season. At least two women per each six-person team must be on the court at one time. Teams may register for either semi-competitive or recreational leagues.

Outdoor Volleyball

Coeds 18 and older may form teams of six (for Sunday afternoon/evening play) or teams of four (for Thursday evening games) beginning in July each year. Fees include the championship tournament and T-shirts, and games are played on the outdoor sand volleyball courts at the Prestonwood Plano Campus.
