Camp Times
9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (Please note this is earlier than other Marist Summer Camps. The tennis courts get 10-15º hotter than the ambient temperature and we can’t keep the kids out on the courts safely past this time).
General Info
War Eagle Tennis Camp is open to boys and girls, ages 6-12 (Completed kindergarten to rising 8th grade). Most campers are beginners. The morning will be spent in rotations with our counselors working on tennis basics (forehand, backhand, serving, and volleying). Fun tennis games will be played to work on the skills being taught. Older students will have the chance to play matches as the week progresses.
Because it is hot on the tennis courts, we will take water breaks and a popsicle break during rotations. To help the kids cool off before lunch, kids can choose to play on the courts with water squirters. After lunch, group games will be played until it is time to pack up and head out.
After care is only offered for the June camp. You can find more information about aftercare on their webpage here. After care is until 5 PM and pickup is in the Ivy Street Center building, just across from the main parking lot.

Lunch
Campers should bring their own lunch and water bottle.
Camp Shirts
A War Eagle Camp t-shirt will be given to each camper at the end of each session.
What to Bring
Lunch, water bottle, tennis racket. Please wear tennis shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Campers may wish to bring a towel if they want to play with water squirters.
Camp Staff
The War Eagle Tennis Camp is led by former Marist Tennis Coach Amelia Luke. She will be assisted by members of the Marist boys’ and girls’ tennis teams.
Insurance
Camp provides Secondary Accidental Insurance on each camper.
If an Injury Occurs
A medical trainer is on campus for the entirety of camp. The coach has first aid equipment and supplies to treat all minor injuries. Parents will be informed of any major injury as soon as it occurs. Camp staff and the medical trainer will follow the appropriate procedures for additional medical assistance if necessary.
