Dear Santa Monica PONY Families,
Normally at this time, we would be gearing up for evaluations, draft, and the eventual start of our spring season. Unfortunately, we do not have the authority to be able to open up our league for normal baseball operations at this time. We ask you to bear in mind that with the pandemic still ongoing, much of our decision making is predicated on limitations set by the State of California, County of Los Angeles, and City of Santa Monica. Our utmost priority is the health, safety, and well-being of all of our players and families.
Registration is now open. At this time, the City of Santa Monica will only allow practice pods. Scrimmages or games are prohibited. Because of this, we will not be collecting registration until the City can assure us that we can play games.
If you would like to participate in our practice pods, please register, and you will be contacted mid-February with your practice pod times. The practice pods will run on a series of 4 week sessions. At the end of each session, the Division Commissioners will evaluate how effective they are, and make any needed adjustments to the next session.
If the City does eventually allow us to play games, we would collect registrations, immediately have evaluations, order uniforms, and quickly get our league up and running again.
We hope that all of you have been safe and healthy and we look forward to getting back to baseball!!
