DRLL Assessments - March 19th - Info & Schedules

The Deep River Little League Player Assessments will be held on Saturday March 19, 2016. A player MUST be registered before the assessments due to insurance purposes. Online registration is always open, however if there are difficulties registering, please bring a paper registration with you to assessments

COACHES NEEDED - attached is an electronic copy of our volunteer form. Please bring the completed form with you to assessments if you are interested in coaching this season. Or scan and email. Or mail your volunteer form to PO box 172 Deep River CT 06417. T-BALL, Coach Pitch Baseball and Softball Coaches needed - I have very few early volunteers. Please volunteer to coach your kids for these levels.

Assessments help to determine where a player is placed. If a player is NOT assessed, there is no guarantee a player will be selected to a minors or majors roster. By Little League rules, 12 year old players have to be placed on a Majors roster, however we have new coaches every season and we would like to assess all players.

All players (Boys & Girls) ages 8-11 must attend the assessment. Players that are "league age" 7 years old who would like to “try out” for a spot on a Minors team are invited to attend, but are not required. Please follow this link to determine your player's "League Age". CLICK HERE TO DETERMINE LEAGUE AGE

Little League emphasizes a safe and fun environment to learn life skills while playing the game of baseball and softball. Assessments allow your League Volunteers, Managers, and Coaches to evaluate each players abilities. These evaluations, along with Little League guidelines, are then used to build a pool of players with similar skills and abilities for each division.

There are limited spots available for Majors and Minors rosters. Those players not selected to a Majors or Minors roster will be placed on a Double-A “Coach Pitch” team. All players registered for Little League are guaranteed a roster position in one of our divisions of play.

A Note For Our Parents – What to expect!!

As players arrive at the Skills Assessments they will be registered and receive a number to pin to their shirt or pants. After given their number, players will be placed in numeric order in the player’s seating area. We have budgeted a brief warm-up period in each time slot.

Assessors from Deep River Little League and Between the Lines will be at each station and will evaluate each player using a predetermined scoring system to be utilized by the coaches as assistance in the drafting process when assembling teams.

PLEASE REMEMBER – this skills assessment is designed to be FUN!! Any questions please email me at [email protected]
