EBYA Girls Softball is a fast-pitch recreational level of play and is open to all skill levels with all athletes participating in all games.  We are registered USA Softball and follow USA Softball rules with a few modifications.

We offer softball teams for girls ages 8-12 that are divided into  8U, 10U and 12U.   All of our divisions are part of the Brandywine Valley Girls Softball League (BVGSL) which is comprised of the following leagues:

  • EBYA
  • Glenmoore Girls Softball
  • Morgantown
  • Octorara
  • Oxford Diamond Divas
  • Unionville Recreation Association
  • West Chester Wildfire
QuickBall teams are also offered for players who are 4 and 5 years old.  Please see the EBYA baseball registration page for more information on this program.

Our home games are played at East Brandywine Community Park Field B.
Our away games are played at the home fields of the teams listed above.
*Weekday away games are scheduled at the closest neighboring fields to minimize travel time on weeknights*

Fall Seasons offer weekly practices and Saturday games.
Spring Seasons offer weekly practices, 1 weekday game and 1 Saturday game.  Weekday games are scheduled at 6:30pm.

Now is a great time to get involved with EBYA Softball!
Looking ahead to 2024, we are looking to establish a parent committee that is dedicated to helping us:
~maintain our Facebook page
~assist with field maintenance
~prepare equipment
~distribute uniforms
~assist with special events like Opening Day & Blue & Gold Day
~recognize our sponsors
The time commitment would only be a few hours each season.
Please sign up within your daughter's registration to participate, or email [email protected].

Equipment Your Player Needs

Recommended Softball Equipment for Each Player:
~Softball Glove~
~Fielding Mask~highly encouraged for 10U and above, welcome at 8U
~Softball Cleats~
~Softball Bat~
~Softball Helmet~we have some to loan for the season if desired

Uniform:  EBYA provides a uniform jersey and visor.  Softball pants and socks are not included.  Black pants are preferred but any color is acceptable.  10U and above should wear softball pants in lieu of shorts or leggings because they can steal and slide!

Please bring water to all practices and games.

FAQ:  Unsure of the proper size glove or bat for your daughter?  Reach out and we are happy to help offer assistance.

Gloves:  We recommend 11" gloves for most girls in the 10U and 12U divisions.  Anything over 8U should have a larger, leather glove. The more broken in the better because the girls' hands are still smaller and developing.
Bats:  Bat length is recommended based on the height (and associated arm length) of the player.  Most 8U ladies will use 26-28".  10U players usually go with 28 or 29".  Bat weights are associated with the length, so choose the correct length.
Softballs:  We use 11" softballs for 8U and 10U.  12U moves to 12"
