Long-Time Academy Little League President Tenders Resignation

Academy Little League families,

Due to my business expansion, I am unable to continue to fulfill the demands of president of Academy LL. Last year was a struggle for me time-wise, and the demands will be even greater this coming year. I, therefore, tendered my resignation at the November Board meeting. Two of our vice-presidents, Erik Forster and Todd White, have graciously agreed to step in as Interim co-presidents until further notice. It is my intention to stay as treasurer through the 2018 season to help with the transition.

I would like to sincerely thank Lori Carrington (secretary), Dan Jackson (player agent), Tim Jenness (VP) and Shane Nuss (equipment manager) for their years of service as they step down from their positions. Each of them has made a huge contribution that has allowed thousands of players to play the wonderful game of baseball. We have a few new Board members that we will be introducing you to over the next month. Thanks for stepping into some big shoes.

It has been a privilege to serve the Academy family over the years and it was a difficult decision to step down. I truly believe we have the greatest league around and I know the Board will continue to work hard and make decisions that will keep It that way.

I would like to make one request.... please take some time this upcoming season to help out the league. Volunteers are becoming increasingly hard to find and that is leaving an unfair burden on those who are stepping up. We are still in need of many Advisory Council positions and many Board members could use assistants to help with their work loads or train for future positions. Most of you would be surprised at the amount of hours spent by these amazing volunteers. A few hours of your time helping them out could make the difference in them staying on in their positions. Please contact the league if you are willing to serve in any capacity. Leagues around the country are struggling to find enough volunteers to run their programs. Academy has always held a high standard of excellence and can only continue to do so if everyone helps out. Please don't just read this and think "somebody else with more time will step up". Everybody is busy. Everybody has lots of obligations. The day of lots of full-time volunteers is long gone. With longer work hours and families going in a hundred different directions, it's going to take a lot of people stepping in to do a smaller part to make things work. Please give it some thought....our kiddos deserve it!

Thanks to all the Board members over the years, who have not only made my job easier, but who have become friends. I admire you all more than you know. The sacrifices you make never go unnoticed by me and I truly appreciate and have mad respect for each of you. I have so many great memories of the Board, our outstanding coaches, our wonderful families and most importantly, our players....the reason we are all here. From the first time tee-ballers, who I go to watch when I need to just smile for an hour, to the Minors playing their first games of "real" baseball, to the majors dreaming of Williamsport, to the Juniors who are prepping for high school dreams....each of you have a special place in my heart.

Best of luck to everyone for the 2018 season. You will all still see me around....just not in the same capacity.

Thanks for the memories,

Tamee Lashlee
