Harris County Soccer Association - Local Option Rules

 (addendum to FIFA Laws of the Game and Georgia Soccer Rules & Regulations)

HCSA encourages equitable play for all players, regardless of skill level or ability.  Coaches will assess player fitness and ensure players are given ample rest/recovery time by substitution and/or position rotation.

One Head Coach and one Assistant Coach allowed for each team.

U-6 

No Referee.  Coaches allowed on field with team during game.
5 vs. 5 (no goalkeeper)
THROW-IN  method:  If the ball goes out on the end lines, the ball is thrown in from closest corner.  If the ball goes out on
touch lines, ball is thrown in from spot of outage.
Play For Fun.  Frequent rotation of players encouraged.
Four 10-Minute Quarters
5 minute halftime
NO score keeping
NO goalkeeper
NO off-side
4 X 6 Goals

U-8

1-3 Referees (Coaches may be needed to referee these games)
Two 20-Minute Halves
6 vs.6 (including the goalkeeper) 
5 minute halftime
All free kicks will be indirect
NO penalty kicks
NO off-sides
Corner kicks
Throw-ins with one redo
Score Kept
NO Slide tackles, NO Punting, NO Headers
6.5 X 18.5 Goals  

For goal kicks, the defense will retreat to a line equal to that of the deepest point of the opponents midfield circle.                                                  

Substitutions unlimited and allowed prior to throw-in for team in possession.  Subs need to be available at midline prior to being allowed to sub.

U-10

1-3 Referees
Two 25-minute halves, changed to 20-minute halves if excessive heat or no substitutions available.
5 minute halftime
9 vs.9 (including the goalkeeper)
Off-sides will be called
Throw-ins with no redo
Score kept
HCSA suggests subbing keepers at 15 minute mark of half.
NO Punting
NO Headers  
6.5 X 18.5 Goals
