2019 MSI Kickoff Classic (updated 8/05/19)

The 2019 MSI Kickoff Classic will be held over Labor Day Weekend, with some exciting changes for this year's event! For starters, it is anticipated that all games will be played on MSI's new synthetic turf fields at Whitman HS Stadium and Einstein HS Stadium, eliminating the chance of rainouts. While the exact days and times of your team's games will depend on the number of teams registering to participate, the Stadium Fields provide the opportunity to play under the lights, always exciting for the kids!

Festival Locations: it is anticipated that all games will be played on MSI's new lighted/turf fields at Whitman HS Stadium and Einstein HS Stadium.

Festival Dates/Times: in general, teams will be grouped so that they play 3 mini-games on one day, and 3 additional mini-games on the next day. Again, it is dependent on how many teams in each age group register to participate, but the most likely outcome is that you there will be two groups, with each assigned to one of the following rotations:

***Rotation #1: first set of mini-games on late afternoon/evening of Saturday, August 31, second set of mini-games on morning/early afternoon, of Sunday, September 1
***Rotation #2: first set of mini-games on late afternoon/evening of Sunday, September 1, second set of mini-games on morning/early afternoon, of Monday, September 2. If it is possible to avoid playing on Monday, we will do so. If we need to play games on Monday, we will look to conclude around lunchtime, so that families attending picnics and the like will be able to do so!

Schedule Posting Date: schedules will be posted on the MSI website by Friday, August 23rd. However, once we complete registration, we will be able to give you some additional advance notice as to which "Rotation" your team will be assigned to.

Registration: Online registration will open by 5:00 PM, Wednesday, August 7.

Registration Deadline: LAST CALL Registration will close at 9:00am Friday, August 23. After that date, teams will be accepted on a "space available" basis.

Registration Fee: $295 per team (if paying with check)
Registration Fee: $302.50 per team (if paying with credit card)

Kickoff Classic Tentative Format: Teams will play six 25 minute games over two days. The teams will play a set of three 25-minute games on one day, and a second set of three 25-minute games on the next day. The games will be scheduled so that teams "play, rest, play, rest, play". The games will be played in either a morning, afternoon, or evening session to be held each day. The concept is to play as many different opponents as possible to prepare for the season, a great pre-season opportunity!

Registration/carding/check in: This is an MSI Classic League "house tournament." Cards will not be checked. See the tournament rules and regulations for details - Click here for rules

Age group game format:
U10 7 v 7
U11/U12 9 v 9
U13/U14 9 v 9 (obviously, these age groups play 11v11 in the Classic League season, but limitations on field space prevent us from doing so
this particular Festival weekend)
U15/above 7 v 7
