Purpose
Our purpose is to develop, promote, and regulate the sport of basketball for the young men and women of the Lawrence Township Community.


Creation
• Incorporated on January 22, 1991 under the Indiana Not-For-Profit Corporation Act of 1971 • LTBBL is a charitable and educational organization defined by the Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c) (3) • Although formally incorporated in 1991, we first organized the league in 1974 and had our first games in the Winter of 1975 
LTBBL originated as two recreation leagues for 3rd/4th and 5th/6th grade boys. Subsequently, at the request of Lawrence Township School Administration, a 3rd league was added for 7th/8th grade boys. In 2009, a new high school grade league was successfully added to meet demand. • In Fall 2015, we began operating the girls league and had a 3rd-5th grade recreation league. • In Fall 2015, we entered into an agreement with MSD Lawrence Township to assist with operating a 6th grade boys and girls elementary school league (a 6th grade boys and girls teams at each MSDLT Elementary school)
