Frequently Asked Questions

1. When does season start/end?

Our spring season usually starts beginning/end of April and will go though the last week of school.
Fall season can start the second week of August and go through the third weekend of October
The U6 group (4 and 5 year olds) will usually have a shorter season.

2. How many times will my child have practice each week.

It depends on the age bracket and the coach, if your child is age 4 through 7 you will likely have one 30 minute or one 1 hour practice a week. Any team above that usually has two 1 hour practices.

3. When are games played, and where?

Games are normally played on Saturdays, with an occasional game played on a Tuesday/Thursday, depending on the opponent.

4. Travel? Why would my child want to travel, we aren't ready for that!

Our "travel" games (especially for the younger teams) are relatively close. Lake Odessa, Hastings, an occasional Charlotte game. We play these teams because Maple Valley is no longer big enough to support enough soccer teams to play against other MV teams every week. Plus, these other teams teach our children and our coaches more about the game.

5. What is the cost?

U6 players are $20.00 a season.
U8, depending on travel or rec player is $30.00 a season.
U10 and above are all $30.00
There is a $5.00 discount for each additional player per family.

6. What is your inclement weather policy?

It is against our policy to hold any games or practices if there is any type of lightening storm. Coaches of each team will make the call to hold or cancel practice during rain. If you have a question regarding weather please contact your individual coach. Coach's are instructed to contact each parent if a practice/game is cancelled.
