We are cautiously optimistic about resuming soccer season for this fall. Based on current recommendations from Ohio North Soccer and the State of Ohio we are able to practice and play in-house. We are hopeful that by August we will also be able to continue with our Travel League games against other communities. Of course the safety and health of our players and families remains our primary concern.
The plan for this fall is to have the house league play academy style, meaning that everyone in the same age group will practice together and then will divide up into teams on game days. This will provide additional flexibility to deal with variability in numbers from week to week, reduces the number of trained coaches required, and still provides a fun and engaging experience for all players. Travel teams will continue to hold coach-led practice sessions and scrimmages until we receive more details on the travel season.
If you would like to register your child, registration is now open but you will not be charged until we are sure the season will proceed. If the season continues to look good, we will begin charging families once we know we can safely play at least 4 games together. This will also allow us to prorate registration fees if we have to start late or adjust the timing of the fall season. Recognizing the ever-changing regulations, we will have rec players register for only the fall season and then we will reevaluate for spring.
We will hold a parent meeting on Monday, July 20, to elect new board members and provide additional details and answer questions regarding the fall season. This meeting will be held remotely, and dial-in information will be provided.
