Start of Spring Season!

Hi EYSO families!

We are so excited about the start of the spring portion of our 2018-2019 soccer season! Thank you all for your involvement in EYSO this year, and we especially welcome those who are new! We hope you and your children will all have a great experience this year. Additional registrations have been pouring in over the past couple weeks, and we have been working very hard to get everything ready for the start of the spring season. We appreciate everyone's patience as we try to accommodate all the players who want to be a part of Euclid Youth Soccer this year!

A few reminders as we get ready for our first rec games this weekend:

Parent Meeting
Our spring parent meeting and annual membership meeting will be held on Monday, April 15, at 7:30 pm at the Euclid Public Library. One representative from each family should attend. We will cover details and answer questions about the spring season, and will have elections for executive board positions. This is a great opportunity to meet board members and other parents.

Rosters
All registered players have been assigned to a team, and you should have received a notification with your roster and coach's information. If you are unsure about what team you are on, please contact Mike French (housedirector@euclidsoccer.com).

Schedules
Game schedules are posted on our website. Practices will be scheduled by individual coaches. (The U5 and U6 age groups do not have any weeknight practices.)

Locations
U5, U6, U8, and U10 practices and games are held exclusively at the Babbitt Road fields (Milton Road and Babbitt Road, near the ice arena). U12 rec practices and home games are at Pool field, on Milton Road off of East 222nd. U14/15 rec, U12 and U14/15 travel practices and home games are at Shore field, on Shore Center Drive behind Burlington Coat Factory, or at the Euclid High School soccer field.

Uniforms and Equipment
Each player will receive a uniform (jersey, shorts, socks) that is to be worn for all games. We do have some additional practice socks that will be available for purchase for $5/pair. Uniforms will be distributed Friday evening from 7:30pm - 8:30pm at the Babbitt Road fields, or Saturday morning starting at 9:00 am at Babbitt.

All players are required to wear shin guards for all practices and games. There are no exceptions. Shin guards must be worn beneath the socks and be completely covered by the socks.

While not required, soccer-style cleats are recommended. Metal spikes or football or baseball cleats that have a toe cleat are not allowed. If you do not have cleats, or are panicking that last year's no longer fit, we encourage you to participate in our reBOOT program. We collect used cleats of various sizes and make them freely available to all EYSO players. You can pick up cleats or donate old pairs at uniform pickup or at Saturday mornings at Babbitt. If you are donating cleats we ask that they be clean and placed in a bag and labeled with the size. Cleats donated to this program that we cannot use will be passed on to local charities.

Player Safety - Lindsay's Law and Concussions
In accordance with Ohio Revised Code 3313.5310, 3707.58 and 3707.59, we are required to make you aware of guidelines and materials regarding youth athletes and concussions and sudden cardiac arrest.

All parents are required to watch the required video, acknowledge receipt of the attached information forms. An acknowledgement form will be available at uniform pickup and your signature is required in order to receive your child's uniform.

Volunteers
EYSO is an all-volunteer organization and we are very grateful to the executive board, our coaching staff, and others who already have been putting in many hours to get ready. In order to help the league continue to grown and to make it the best experience we can, we need your help! We know that not every parent has the time or inclination to coach a team, but there are many other ways in which you can help out. Please contact us at [email protected] if you would like to get more involved!

Sponsorships
One additional way that you can help is to find businesses willing to make a donation to EYSO and become a sponsor! All you need to do is take the attached sponsorship form to area businesses, especially those where you have a personal connection. Include your name as the referring EYSO member, and you will get a credit for 10% of all donations that come in under your name. Just one $250 sponsorship will get you $25 off your child's registration next season!

Most importantly, we want all of you (both parents and players) to have fun! Soccer is an amazing game that has brought a great deal of joy to my life and I hope that you will share in that joy this season! If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me or another member of the board.

See you at the fields!
