2020 HSA WINTER FLAG FOOTBALL SEASON UPDATE
Our HSA Flag Football program relies on support from Northwest ISD and their football-related facilities to execute our winter Flag Football season. With the uptick of COVID-19 cases, NISD administrators and Board have difficult decisions, ensuring that priority #1 is the safety and wellbeing of all kids during these challenging times.
One such difficult decision is access to NISD facilities by outside organizations. At this point with the upward trend as it is and aligning with NISD guidance, HSA has made the difficult decision to postpone the Winter Flag Football season through the end of this year.
We are not canceling the season in hopes that COVID-19 cases begin to trend down and there is a slim chance we may be able to begin season play in January 2021 – but at this point we are unable to conduct a season as we had hoped. Please look for more communication toward the middle of December regarding possible play in January 2021, or if we will have to make the determination to cancel the season all together. I wish there were better news to give, but it is the place where we are at right now in this climate.
There are other surrounding leagues that plan to have a winter (non-contact) football season. One such league is Texas Elite 7on7 Leagues in Keller (https://bit.ly/2JymCYZ) that begins play in December. This is not an endorsement from HSA, only providing additional options for play.
Again, thank you all for your continued support of HSA and if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to HSA Football Commissioner using the links below. Thanks again for your support.

Adam Page / HSA Flag Football Commissioner / [email protected]
