Savannah United Micro Soccer Program
Micro players (Early Goals, 6U, 8U) make up the largest number of participants in U.S. soccer. Since this level marks the first playing experience for many children, Savannah United views this program as the grassroots of the club. To ensure our players develop a love for the “beautiful game”, we strive to maintain a safe and enjoyable atmosphere. Practices are geared towards individual skill and coordination development.
Micro Program teams can train at The Jennifer Ross Soccer Complex and Wilmington Island. You can select your location preference during online registration.
If you have any questions about our MICRO Program, please contact Jeff Storey-Pitts at [email protected].

Uniform Information
Our current 6U-8U Micro Program uniform package includes one red jersey, and one black jersey.
All new players in the 6U-8U Program will need to order a uniform package. Spring 2019 was the first season in a two year uniform cycle. If you played in the 6U or 8U Program in Fall or Spring 2019 you will NOT need to order a new uniform package.
Players who will be playing Early Goals this season DO NOT need to order a uniform as the jersey is included in your registration.
Uniforms carry over from one season to the next and are purchased separately from your program registration. The next cycle of uniforms will begin in Spring 2020.

Age Groups
The Early Goals Program is for players at least 30 months old to 4U. This year that is players born between 2015-2016. Players will have one practice each week focusing on technique and ball comfort. Toward the end of the season the players will be introduced to opponents which will help tie in to the 6U Program.
The 6U Program is for players born in 2014-2015. Players are placed onto teams and have one practice a week and eight games over the course of the season. We take your preferences into consideration when scheduling practice. Games take place on Saturdays.
The
8U Program is the final step in the Micro Program and allows players to really immerse themselves in the game. This is for children who were born in 2012-2013. The teams are a bit bigger, and games are slightly more competitive. Teams practice once a week, with games on Saturdays. Your preferences are considered for scheduling practice.
If you’re unsure of which age group is right for your child, you can find out simply by registering online. The system will automatically place your child in the proper age group.
Schedule
The Micro Program schedule is very simple. Our 6U and 8U players will practice once a week, and times vary from team to team and coach to coach. During Registration, we give you the option of letting us know what works for you (teammate preference, coach preference, practice day preference), and we do our best to accommodate those requests. Our goal is to make the process as convenient for you and your child as possible.
Games are on Saturdays and begin on September 14th for the 6U and 8U teams. The times will vary from week to week. We will provide the game schedule a few weeks prior to the first game day, as we must wait until registrations close before we can finalize the dates and times.
** The registration deadline is August 16th. Any registration after that date will incur a Late Fee of $10 and the player will be placed on to a waiting list (and is not guaranteed a place in the program).**
