The FYSA Olympic Development Program
structure for identifications will utilize both a scouting process and trial
process. We will be holding Fall trials for males and females in the
2001-2003 and 2004-2005 age groups. Players in the 2004-2006 age groups will
also have Training Centers.
The mission of the Florida
Youth Soccer Association is to identify players for our men's and women's Youth
National Teams. The selection process takes place through state, regional
and national events.
The primary benefit to the
player is to be able to train, play, and compete against the best players in
their age group. This allows the best players to be with the best in
order to further their development as soccer players.
Our State Staff is comprised of
professional, college, high school, and club coaches. All of these
coaches are nationally licensed by US Soccer. It is the goal of our staff
to conduct these trials in a fair and impartial manner.
Florida Youth Soccer
Association encourages always look for ways to challenge and improve themselves
as players. We continue to strive to make this program the finest in the
country.
Events
Region Trials - depending on the age group there will be a one or two day trial
where the players will be evaluated by FYSA ODP staff. Region trials are
open to all players born 2001 thru 2005.
Training Centers -the primary purpose of the training centers is to provide a
training opportunity for our FYSA players. Players will also have an
opportunity to be further evaluated. The training centers are open to all
players born in 2004 and 2005. We also allow for 2006 players who have
been recommended by their club.
Scouting- FYSA will be scouting events throughout the Fall/Winter.
Club coaches and directors are encouraged to recommend players to be evaluated
by FYSA ODP.
