In 2017 was the creation of the South Hills Youth Football League (SHYFL).  After careful consideration, the BPJF Board of Directors voted to join this new and exciting opportunity.  We feel the SHYFL aligns perfectly with our mission and vision of youth football.

The mission and philosophy of Bethel Park Junior Football is to create a competitive environment that allows the boys and girls of Bethel Park to enjoy the experience of youth football.

Four main factors were considered when deciding to join the SHYFL:      

·   Logistical:  The SHYFL will consist of 8 school districts (Bethel Park, USC, Mt. Lebanon, Peters Township, South Fayette, Chartiers Valley, Thomas Jefferson, Canon Mac)

·  Multiple Teams for Each School District at Each Division:  The more game day playing time, the more enjoyable the experience.

·  Scheduling:  The intent is to play all games on Saturdays.  The intent is to play the same school district opponent at the same venue on the same day for all divisions. 

·  Financial:  No Admission Fee on game days

BPJF is extremely excited to join this new league as a charter member.  As a charter member, Bethel Park will be instrumental in the creation of the rules, regulations, and by-laws of the SHYFL.  These by-laws will place an emphasis on safety, certification, and a foundation in teaching the proper fundamentals of the game of football.
