HSC SPRING 2019 RECREATION PROGRAMS

All programs begin in March and include a Harrison Soccer Club T-shirt.

The goal of the HSC recreation program is to introduce the sport of soccer to youth players of all ages and skill levels. We are dedicated to providing a positive learning environment for each player to reach their highest potential. Our age-specific programs are tailored to teach fundamental soccer skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. We are a 100% volunteer organization and need coaches to support our programs. Please consider volunteering for your child’s team!

PEEWEE PROGRAMS: For players born in 2013 and 2014.

All practice sessions will be on Friday night

·        Open to all children with 2013 and 2014 birth years.

·        Program includes (8) 60-minute sessions held on Friday evenings.

·        All training sessions will be professionally staffed and assisted by volunteer coaches.

·        Each age group will train and play games in separate divisions (2013 & 2014).

·        Co-ed teams will be formed in each age group.

·        Sessions will include 30 min. of training and 30 min. of small-sided (3v3 or 4v4) games.

·        Games will be played within the age group teams

·        Players will be taught basic soccer skills such as ball control, dribbling, and passing.

·        Fun and success are the guiding principles for the PeeWee age group.

·        Each player will need a size 3 ball and shin guards to participate.  Cleats are optional.

MICRO PROGRAMS: For players born in 2011 and 2012.

Micro Boys Schedule: Tuesday Night Training, Saturday Morning Games

Micro Girls Schedule: Wednesday Night Training, Saturday Morning Games

·        Open to all players with 2011 and 2012 birth years.

·        Micro Boys and Micro Girls teams will be formed within the group.

·        Program includes (8) 60-minute training sessions and weekly (in house) games.

·        All training sessions will be professionally staffed and assisted by volunteer coaches.

·        Players will continue to learn fundamentals and be exposed to basic game tactics and 1v1 skills. 

·        Players will learn the aspects of teamwork and good sportsmanship through weekly games.

·        Small sided games (4v4) will be played on Saturday mornings and supervised by parent coaches.

·        Providing a fun, positive environment for the players are the principles for the Micro age group.

·        Each player will need a size 3 ball and shin guards to participate.  Cleats are optional.

INTRAMURAL PROGRAM: For Players born 2009 and 2010.

Tuesday or Wednesday Training (depending on registration), Weekend Games

·        Open to all players with 2009 and 2010 birth years.

·        Separate Boys/Girls, or Co-ed teams will be formed depending on registration numbers.

·        Program includes (8) 60-minute training sessions and weekly games against local clubs such as; Swedesboro-Woolwich, South Harrison, Woodstown, and Franklin Twp.  Clubs and game days may vary on field availability.

·        All training sessions will be professionally staffed and assisted by volunteer coaches.

·        Small-sided games (7v7) will be played on weekend days and coached by volunteer parents.

·        Players will be taught 1v1 technical skills, teamwork and good sportsmanship in a more competitive environment. 

·        Emphasis will be placed on learning team tactics and teaching the rules of soccer.

·        All games will be played applying the standard rules of soccer. (corner kicks, goal kicks, etc.)

·        Each player will need a size 4 ball, shin guards, and cleats to participate. 

*** NEW *** TRANSITIONAL REC/TRAVEL PROGRAM: For all travel eligible players born 2009-2012.

This program is for HSC Rec players seeking additional training to prepare for transition to HSC travel programs. 

Friday Night Sessions. Participation requires a separate registration fee of $60 per player.

·        Players entering this program MUST also participate in the Spring Rec programs (Micro or Intramural).

·        Players will be trained in separate age groups (2009-2010 and 2011-2012).

·        The 8-week program will be led solely by a professional training staff. The curriculum includes regimented skills development and agility drills, instructional small sided play (3v3, 4v4), 1v1 attacking and defensive play, “rules of the game” discussions and an introduction to travel format games (7v7).

·        A minimum of 10 participants is required for the program start up.

·        Space will be limited to 16 participants in each age group.

·        All players will receive a t-shirt.

·        Each player will need a size 4 ball, shin guards, and cleats to participate.

FIRST KICK PROGRAM: Registration Fee $45 per player. Sessions held Midweek (Tue or Wed)

For players born in 2015. First Kick is a 7-week introductory soccer program for our youngest players. The trainer led sessions will teach players the fundamentals of soccer while helping to develop motor skills, build self-confidence, and social skills in a FUN filled environment.  Each player will receive a First Kick HSC t-shirt.  Space is limited to 20 participants
