Mason SAY is hosting a Rocket League tournament!

Date: Saturday September 30, 2023
Time: 6:30 PM - 10:00 PM (note the event might end earlier depending on how fast matches take)
Location: Cottell Park Snyder House
Cost: $10 per player (or $20 per team)
Players must be age 10 to High School Senior!
Prize for winning the tournament: $150 GameStop Gift Card for first place team (two $75 gift cards); $50 GameStop Gift Card for second place team (two $25 gift cards). All players receive one cup of Italian Ice on us!

What are Esports?
Esports is the same structured competition that you find in recreational or intramural sports leagues, but for multiplayer video games. Benefits of gaming include fostering communication and teamwork, as well as developing cognitive, social and emotional skills.

What is Rocket League?
Rocket League takes the game of soccer, but has race cars as players. Players control their race cars in the video game to score goals with a giant soccer ball. This game is FREE for numerous devices. We will be using the Nintendo Switch for matches.

What is this tournament?
This tournament focuses on an in-person way to connect and socialize using video games. We use a 2 v. 2 team format where two teams will compete at the same time head-to-head. A bracket is used to determine matches until a champion is crowned.

In this tournament, teams will compete against each other in a local Rocket League match. All games for this tournament happen in-person (not online with strangers), so we provide all essential equipment at the tournament.

We will ONLY accept up to 64 players (32 teams) for this tournament. Players DO NOT have to play for Mason SAY to participate in this tournament. All skill levels are welcome!

How do I sign up?
To sign up, scroll down below and click the Register Now button. Complete the online registration process on your screen.

IMPORTANT: There is a strict limit of 64 players (32 teams) in this tournament!

Once you sign up online, attend the event on Saturday September 30. If you are NOT on the waiting list (first 64 players to sign up), you must show up in-person and check in/pay by 6:20 PM to secure your spot. If you do not show up by 6:20 PM, you will lose your spot. Players on the standby/waiting list will be selected based on their online registration time stamp until 64 players (32 teams) are in the tournament. There is a strict maximum of 64 players (32 teams) in this tournament.

To participate, you must be age 10 to 18 (high school senior). Parents are welcome to watch and cheer.

Can I request a teammate?
Yes! You can request ONE teammate. However, both teammates must sign up individually and they both must request their teammate on the online registration form. Both players must also be within the first 64 players signed up for this tournament. You can also have us assign you a teammate as well.

Do I need to bring any equipment?
Mason SAY provides all essential equipment to play. Players are welcome to bring their own Nintendo Switches if they want to practice before their matches.

How do I pay?
Payment is required in-person at check in. We will only accept cash (exact change please) or check. All checks should be made out to Mason SAY Soccer. If you do not pay at check in, you lose your spot!

Is the bracket based on the player ages?
Our bracket is created by creating the teams and assigning spots based on the player ages. We will make every possible effort to have the matches close in age.

What does the entry fee cover?
The $10 per person ($20 per team) fee covers the gift cards, Italian Ice for all players, and any equipment. Mason SAY provides Nintendo Switches that will be used for game play.
