CONCUSSION TRAINING FOR COACHES
Passed in 2013, Ohio law (ORC 3707.511) requires a youth sports organization to provide an information sheet to the parent or guardian of an individual who wishes to practice for or compete in an athletic activity organized by the organization. In addition, all coaches must receive training on how to recognize the signs and symptoms of concussion and steps to take following a possible concussion. A certificate of completion must be uploaded by coach's during the registration process. It is the responsibility of the coach to keep track of their certificate of completion - they are good for 3 years and the certificate of completion must be submitted annual with the coaching registration.
