CO-County Youth Baseball – Spring 2021

Our board has been working extremely hard since last season to revamp and offer more options for players this spring.  Please read through this entire document to know what is going on.

This represents the layout of how CO-County Youth Baseball will look in Spring of 2021 for the local leagues of Caldwell Youth Baseball Association, Middleton Baseball Association, Vallivue Youth Baseball, Homedale Youth Sports and Marsing Youth Sports.

After you read through this fully, please hover over 2021 Spring Season Information tab on this site and click on your appropriate age group for additional details.  If your player wishes to try-out and even play up on an ELITE spring team, click on the appropriate age group they would like to try out for to gain additional details on tryout dates, times, locations, etc.

We want to stress, every player will be given a fair shot at Elite teams, Competitive teams and summer All-Star teams.  CO-County strives to advance baseball in the west end of the Treasure Valley and we want to be represented by the best talent and players available in the local Club leagues, State & Regional tournaments.

Definitions of divisions being offered:

BABE RUTH division/teams – All players, aged 14-15, and the 13-year old players who do not get accepted to the ELITE Club Ball team, in each local league will inter-league against each other, in the spring, in an effort to continue to advance their skill level and raise their game to the next level.   The BABE RUTH season will consist of approximately a 10-game regular season followed by an end of season tournament and will run from late March through Mid-May.

ELITE Club Ball division/teams – The top players in each age division will be given the opportunity to play against other Club Ball teams from around the valley, in the spring, in an effort to continue to advance their skill level and raise their game to the next level.   The ELITE Club Ball season will consist of approximately a 15-game regular season followed by a double elimination end of season tournament and will run from mid-March through Mid-May.  If a player wishes to play up and try out for an older team, it needs to be the consensus of the evaluators that said player be in top 5 for that upper team and be able to play a majority of the time for the upper team.

COMPETITIVE AAA division/teams – The top players, aged 11-12, in each local league will play against each other, in the spring, as part of a competitive division, in an effort to continue to advance their skill level and raise their game to the next level.   The COMPETITIVE AAA season will consist of approximately a 10-game regular season followed by an end of season tournament and will run from late March through Mid-May.

MAJORS Rec division/teams - All players, aged 11-12, who do not get accepted to the ELITE Club Ball teams or the COMPETITIVE AAA teams in each local league will inter-league against each other, in the spring, in an effort to continue to advance their skill level and raise their game to the next level.   The MAJORS Rec season will consist of approximately a 10-game regular season followed by an end of season tournament and will run from late March through Mid-May.

COMPETITIVE AA division/teams – The top players, aged 8-10, in each local league will play against each other, in the spring, as part of a competitive division, in an effort to continue to advance their skill level and raise their game to the next level.   The COMPETITIVE AA season will consist of approximately a 10-game regular season followed by an end of season tournament and will run from late March through Mid-May.

MINORS Rec division/teams - All players, aged 8-10, and any 7-year old that wants to play up from Coach Pitch who do not get accepted to the ELITE Club Ball teams or the COMPETITIVE AA teams in each local league will inter-league against each other, in the spring, in an effort to continue to advance their skill level and raise their game to the next level.   The MINORS Rec season will consist of approximately a 10-game regular season followed by an end of season tournament and will run from late March through Mid-May.

COACH PITCH division/teams – All players, aged 6-7, unless a 7-year old wants to play up in MINORS, in the spring.  Coach Pitch is your local league’s summer rec season that starts around Mid-May and runs through end of June.

T-BALL division/teams - All players, aged 4-5.  T-Ball is your local league’s summer rec season that starts around Mid-May and runs through end of June.

*Players at try-outs will be assessed, evaluated & determined by the CO-County Board, Local League Boards and along with members of our community that have unbiased opinions and do not have players in the league.

*Once the spring seasons start CO-County plans to have open workouts every Saturday (time/location TBD) for all players in the league (grouped by age) to continue to get advanced coaching and instruction and better prepare them for all-star try-outs etc.  Again, this is for everyone in the league.  Great opportunity to get more reps!

*All-Star try-outs for summer baseball will be held toward end of April.  Our spring teams, will not necessarily be our summer all-star teams; this will be determined by this separate try-out period.

*CO-County plans to have multiple all-star teams for summer for each age division with the ability to have 2 teams from the same age division each qualify for State, if they so choose.
