COVID-19 INFORMATION

What is COVID-19?

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a virus that was first identified in Wuhan, China and has now been spread throughout the world.  People all over the world are encouraged to take precautions to prevent the spread.

   * Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds at a time or use hand sanitizer when appropriate.
   * Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
   * Avoid close contact with people who are ill.
   * Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and do not reuse the tissue.
   * Practice social distancing, putting 6 feet between yourself and others.
   * Wear a face covering that covers your nose and mouth when you're in public.
   * Clean and disinfect surfaces that are frequently touched.

How does COVID-19 spread?
Coronaviruses like COVID-19 are most often spread through the air by coughing or sneezing, through close personal contact (including touching and shaking hands), or through touching your nose, mouth, or eyes before washing your hands.

What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
Symptoms of COVID-19 are fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.  Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure.

Per the most recent state order, each sports organization must designate a COVID Compliance Officer to lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the organization's COVID plan.  This person is also the designated representation for communication with appropriate state and county health departments.
