Annville Cleona Youth Soccer Club

Dear ACYSC Families,

The health and safety of your child is the primary concern of the Annville Cleona Youth Soccer Club. Following the guidance provided by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the CDC as well as US Soccer, US Youth Soccer and the US Olympic Committee has allowed us to carefully and cautiously proceed towards restarting our soccer activities. The board of the ACYSC has created action plans and protocols for a safe return to play. Please review these and discuss with your child.

We continue to advise you that there are still risks and possible exposure to COVID-19. Should the Governor order a postponement or suspension we will comply. Until such a time, we must continue practicing the necessary mitigation strategies of wearing a mask, social distancing, minimizing spectators and so forth. We also share with many of you that the aspects of physical activity and mental health for our children are quite important, and that their participation in sports can be a positive contribution to their well-being.

Important Guidelines to Review

·        Training schedules will be communicated by each coach.
·        Players will be expected to arrive at practice wearing a face covering and will wear face coverings when on the sidelines during games and when not actively   participating in any soccer activity. The use of masks will be optional for players to wear during active practice or game play.
·        Spectators must not enter the training areas and are asked to remain in the parking lot or socially distanced outside of the playing area.
·        Families are asked to limit the number of spectators accompanying children to practices and games.
·        At the conclusion of training, players must not congregate and must return to the parking area and depart the fields in a timely manner.
·        Players will be assigned a personal scrimmage vest for the season. Families are asked to launder the vest after each session.
·        Each player will have a designated individual area for pre-training preparation, water breaks, and post-training.
·        Coaches must not handle any player’s personal items and, therefore, will not tie shoes, carry bags, or open water bottles for players.
·        Only coaches may touch or move training equipment such as cones, flags, and goals.
·        Players other than gloved goalkeepers must not handle soccer balls during training sessions.
·        Coaches will be required to wear masks when interacting with players during ‘Stage 1’.
·        Coaches will avoid activities involving waiting in lines and avoid prolonged close contact between players AND between players & coaches (i.e. team huddles).
·        All training sessions will involve only non-contact activities during ‘Stage 1’.
·        The club will communicate any changes to these protocols as new guidance is released by EPYSA and/or state and local government.  Please see the ACYSC   COVID Action Plan below.
