July 6, 2020

Dear Harrison Coaches, Parents, and Players,

NJYS Return to Play Update

NJ Youth Soccer (NJYS) is looking forward to our return to competition today, July 6th in line with Governor Murphy’s Executive Order #149, which details the process to resume organized youth sports. This date will mark the progression to Phase 4 of NJYS’ “Return to Play” guidelines, which permits traditional practices and competitions on the field while maintaining physical (social) distancing rules off the field. The information from the NJ Department of Health "Guidance for Sporting Activities" will apply until further notice.   Therefore, each team will need continue to adhere to the guidelines set forth by the New Jersey Department of Health and NJYS. In order to participate a player, coach, staff, shall show No signs or symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 14 days and have no known exposure to someone that has been ill in 14 days. Each team will have a designated field space on a specific night and time so that they are socially distance from other teams. Each participant, player/coach, will need to sign and return the Covid-19 hold harmless agreement found here to their coach before the first day back on the field. Each participant will need to take the Harrison SC Screening HealthQuestionnaire prior to training or team event, out of state travel refers to the governor's quarantine advisory found here. If your player answers YES to any of the questions he/she will not be permitted to attend training or soccer related event.

Also, as we are in the summer months we should be mindful of the heat and all teams should follow the heat policy of US Soccer outlined by Recognize to Recover found here.

As a reminder to parents and players, if you are not comfortable or ready to return to play, don’t; just because you can doesn't mean you must. Our number one priority is the health and safety of our members.
