Dear Parents,

Once again COVID-19 is threatening our DYC activities. This time we can play a huge role in preventing issues within all of our programs. With the recent surge in cases we are asking that you remain diligent in following the guidelines that DYC has put in place using the guidance of the CDC, IDPH, ISBE, and IHSA.

  • If you are sick, STAY HOME! No sporting activity is worth getting others sick!

  • Masks need to be worn at all times by players, coaches, and parents.

  • Masks need to sit snugly on your face and with layers. Gaiters are not to be worn for indoor activities. (Below #1).

  • Minimize cross contact with other teams.

The only way that we are going to make it through this is with your cooperation!

DYC will be following the new CDC guidance for isolation and quarantine. (Below #2).

  • Positive Test – Stay home for 5 days, if you have no symptoms or your symptoms or resolving, you may return to play. If you have a fever, stay home until your fever resolves (without medication).

  • Exposure to someone with COVID-19 and if you are boosted or vaccinated within guidelines – wear a mask around others for 10 days, if symptoms develop, stay home.

  • Exposure to someone with COVID-19 and you are not boosted or outside of vaccine guidelines or are unvaccinated, stay home for 5 days. If you develop symptoms, stay home.

DYC will not request your vaccination status. We ask that you notify your coach or the director of your sport if you have a positive test or are exposed. Please then follow the guidance as described above. Any and all additional questions should be directed to your coach or director. They will seek additional guidance from me if needed.

There is a possibility that we can shut down a team or a sport for a period of time based on positive tests or failure to adhere to the guidelines. If our partner facilities choose to cease operation due to COVID-19, we will work with them to make sure that DYC is treated fairly in rescheduling. The safety of our players, coaches, and families is first and foremost. We are not professional athletes; we are here to play a game and have fun!

Let’s make sure our kids can continue to participate in our programs!

Thanks,

Nick Skweres

DYC President
