New to Phenix City Coach Pitch

Phenix City Coach Pitch has some exciting news to share regarding changes for the Spring 2015 season. The league will begin a new phase this year with the addition of a new division. In past year's, we have had the Minor (5-6 yr olds) and the major leagues (7-8 yr olds).

This year we will have 3 divisions within our league. We will have the "Rookie" league (5-6yr olds) which will consist of Coach pitch only with the Level 1 baseball (soft baseball). This league was formally the Minor League.

We will have the new " Minor" league (6-8 yr olds) which will be machine pitch using the Level 5 baseball (same baseball that has been used for years) beginning this Spring.

And finally, we will have the Major League (7-8 yr olds) which will consist of Kid Pitch/Coach pitch using a regulation baseball (hard baseball). We will host an evaluation day in February to help determine which 7-8 yr old kids will score high enough to be eligible to play in the Major league this spring. All 7-8 yr olds not scoring high enough will default back to the 6-8 yr old Minor league with machine pitch.

So for a recap...We will have the Rookie League (5-6 yr olds) Coach Pitch with the Level 1 Baseball.

We will have the Minor League (6-8 yr olds) Machine Pitch with the Level 5 baseball.

And we will have the Major League (7-8 yr olds) Kid Pitch/Coach Pitch with a regulation baseball (hard baseball).
