What is the Snack Shack?

The heart of Longden Field is Arcadia National Little League’s concession stand, which is known as the “Snack Shack.”  It is a fun and convenient way for families to buy refreshments and meals during a game.  The profits from the Snack Shack also provide additional revenue for Arcadia National Little League activities.

The Snack Shack is a wonderful convenience that offers busy and overwhelmed parents a place where they can get their children lunch or dinner on game days! It is also a place where eager and excited children can purchase drinks, snacks, candy and more!

Team parents are known to get the team snacks and drinks from here too!

How is the Snack Shack staffed?

The Snack Shack is run by our Concession Coordinator and a team of volunteers who help open and close the Snack Shack each day, also known as the Snack Shack Squad.  If you are interested in being part of this team, please contact Myra Peraza ([email protected]).

We rely 100% on volunteers to work in the Snack Shack during every game at Longden Field.  In a normal season, the Snack Shack requires two (2) people minimum to operate, one must be an adult. Whenever there are games scheduled at Longden Filed, the teams are assigned volunteer slots.

I have never worked at the Snack Shack.  How will I know what to do?

The idea of volunteering at the Snack Shack may be a little overwhelming for families who are new to Arcadia National Little League.  However, we try and make it an enjoyable and stress-free experience by providing menu and price lists, written guidance and instructions, as well as providing contact information for the Snack Shack Coordinators in case of questions or issues.

We truly appreciate our volunteers and want to make it as easy as possible for you.

How are volunteers assigned for Snack Shack duty?

For the 2022 season, the coaches/manager and or team parent will coordinate coverage for your team at the Snack Shack for each scheduled game.

Each ANLL family is expected to volunteer at the Snack Shack three game during the course of the season

The parent volunteers should show up at the Snack Shack at the time their shift begins to help prepare for the game and to review how to run the Snack Shack.  Shifts are typically 1-3 hours. The parent volunteers are expected to run the Snack Shack throughout the game.

The Snack Shack Coordinator will come at the end of the game to help clean up and close up or we will coordinate with you to lock up the windows and doors when your shift is over.

Parents can sign up to volunteer for “Snack Shack” duties by visiting the Arcadia National Little League website online sign up.  You will notice that each team is assigned a few games per season to run the Snack Shack, so please sign up for at least one of your team’s slots.  If your team’s slots are not filled, the board will assign families to the vacant slots.

Are children allowed to volunteer in the Snack Shack?

In the past, we have let children help out in the Snack Shack (at the customer windows) as long as the kids are well behaved and closely supervised by an adult.  The kids should not be left unattended in the Snack Shack, and no one is permitted to eat inside the Snack Shack.

We encourage students in grades 6 and higher who need service hours to sign up to volunteer in the Snack Shack and will sign off on service hour forms for their time.

The Snack Shack helps create a sense of community for our ANLL families and we look forward to seeing you all up there this season.

Thanks for your help and have a great season!

Please remember to clean up after yourselves throughout Longden Field.  Our Snack Shack is a wonderful offering, but we count on our families to ensure trash and recycling make it to the proper bins.  Thanks!
