So you want to be a soccer referee? Here is your chance!!

What do you need to do? To become a soccer referee certified by the United States Soccer Federation, you need to take an entry-level referee training course and pass the appropriate test. The course will review the Laws of the Game as well the procedures and mechanics for officiating soccer games.

How long does the course last? The course lasts a total of 12 hours split into two or more sessions. You are required to attend all sessions. The course dates and times for 2017 are:

Friday 18-Aug 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm ULM Campus, Hemphill Hall 222
Saturday 19-Aug 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm ULM Campus, Hemphill Hall 222
Sunday 20-Aug 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm ULM Campus, Hemphill Hall 222

In addition, new referee candidates will complete a series of online modules and quizzes in preparation for the course.

How much does it cost? The course fee is $30. In addition, each new referee is registered with the Louisiana Soccer Association and the United States Soccer Federation by paying an annual registration fee of $50.

What is the age requirements?  Ages 12 and up can take the course to become a referee.

2. Click on course number 21325 to access the Monroe course, click on the link at the bottom of the page, and then click on the New User? Link. You will create an account on the system and complete enrollment in the course by making a $50 payment using a credit card.

3. Mail a check for $30 payable to:
