ALL players in Hybrid, PP Minors, and Majors are invited
to participate in the 2017 SYC Baseball Home Run Derby Contest.
Eligibility:
Players must be in the Hybrid, PP Minors, or Majors division and have a helmet and bat to participate.
Home Run Derby Rules:
1. Each age division will have separate plate distances to the fence at Ebbets Field.
a. Hybrid division – approximately 100 ft
b. PP Minors – approximately 130 ft
c. Majors – home plate at Ebbets
2. Only the top 5 participants with the most home runs from each division will qualify for the Home Run Derby contest during the All-Star game on Sunday 6/11 (ties will advance).
3. Each participant gets 10 outs (any ball that is contacted is either an out or a home run).
4. Each player may bring their own pitcher (mom, dad, or coach - must pitch overhand).
(Pitching Machine will be used in Finals & available for qualifying)
5. All pitchers will need to pitch 30 ft or further from batter.
6. There will be 5 warm up swings and if you hit a home run during that time you may elect to count it and begin your qualifying for home run derby.
The qualifying rounds will take place on the following dates:
HYBRID:
● Sunday, May 28th 11:30am – 12:30pm at Ebbets Field (in between pitcher mound & 2nd base)
PLAYER PITCH MINORS:
● Sunday, May 28th 12:30pm – 2:00pm at Ebbets Field (in between home plate & pitcher mound)
MAJORS:
● Sunday, May 28th 2pm – 3:30pm at Ebbets Field (at home plate)
June 11th is the top 5 participants for home run derby
