TAYSA’s In-Town Program

Townsend Ashby Youth Soccer Association’s In-Town Program is open and ready for player registrations. Our in-town program provides fun opportunities for learning through instruction, drills and games, for players ages three through eight (grade 2).  We have a Travel Program for players in grades 3 and older who are ready for the next level of soccer play and instruction. 

Players must wear shin guards with soccer socks over them. All players will be provided with a team shirt.

TAYSA's in-town program plays games on Saturdays in the fall and spring seasons. In the fall, the in-town program typically starts mid-September and plays until early November. In the spring, the in-town program takes place from April-June (once the snow melts).

Volunteer coaches are vital to the success of these programs – TAYSA provides guidance, support and resources.

In-town Divisions

Eligibility is based on the grade your player will be entering in the Fall of 2023. Teams are built by grade group at random.

Pre-School Clinic (U4, Age 3)

This partner program focuses on the development of children aged 2.5 and 3 years old and introduces your young soccer stars to the basic skills needed in soccer as well as developing their motor, social, and psychological skills, in a fun learning environment. 

This program is runs eight weeks for approximately 45 minutes.  We will have a primary instructor with the group, along with parent participation.

Note: If you have a player who is younger than youngest age, but mature enough to play U4, please reach out to the In-Town Director: intowndirector.taysa@gmail.com to discuss the possibility of having your child play.

Pre-K (U5) / Kindergarten (U6)

Both programs run a (½) half-hour clinic on Saturdays, followed immediately by a (½) half-hour scrimmage with another team of the same grade level.  The schedule will not be finalized until the teams and coaches are assigned.

Girls and Boys aged Pre-K to Kindergarten
Teams: Coed
Format: 3v3
Practices: Saturdays U5 at 9am, U6 at 10:15am
Games: Saturdays U5 at 9:30am, U6 at 10:45am
Field Location: Hawthorne Brook Middle School

Grades 1-2 (U8)

This program has (1) hour games scheduled on Saturdays. The players also have one (1) weekly evening practice. The practice times are set-up by the team coach based on field availability. The games have Referees In Training,  TAYSA's own 12 and 13 year old players that are learning to become referees when they turn 14 years old. 

Girls and Boys in 1st or 2nd grade
Teams: Coed
Format: 7v7 (with goalie)
Practices: At least one practice per week. Day and time are chosen by the coach.
Games: Saturdays at  9AM
Field Location: Hawthorne Brook Middle School

How Much Does It Cost?

Registration fee of $65 (for U4) and $90 for (U5, U6, and U8) are collected at the time of registration.  A $20 late fee is applied to registrations beginning February 15, 2024.

HOW YOU CAN HELP!

TAYSA is run solely by volunteers.  We are always looking for coaches.  TAYSA provides coach training and resources for all our coaches. It's a great way to be involved in your child's soccer experience and have fun!
