Spring Select

We understand that you may have many choices of competitive soccer programs for your child. The Spring Select program  was developed to create more competitive soccer experiences without losing sight of what makes AYSO unique.

What is the AYSO Spring Select program all about?

Eastvale, Region 1605 operates a Spring Select program in the Spring for boys and girls in the U10, U12, U14, and U16 age brackets. The objective of the program is to provide an opportunity for players to play at a higher level than is possible in the Fall Core Program. Coaches are chosen through an application and committee process. Teams can begin practices as soon as coaches ask players to join the program. The season begins with the Thanksgiving Turkey Tournament and ends July 31. Most teams play in the Turkey Tournament and then start up again when area playoffs have ended. The teams play in a 10 game Spring Season in the Area 1R Spring Select League and participate in tournaments as well.

Level of Play

All of the teams that play in the Spring leagues and/or tournaments are Select, All-Star or EXTRA teams, which means that level of play is significantly higher than in the Fall Core Program. Players are in better condition, the game is more physical and players are expected to be committed to improving their skills.

Costs

The select team season is more expensive than the regular season. Our registration fee is only slightly higher than our regular season. At only $120, this is a significant savings over club soccer.  However, this fee does not include tournament and travel cost. An average tournament fee can cost about $50 per player in some instances. Most team will participate in 2-3 tournaments. Teams will collect a fee from each player up front to cover initial costs of getting started. Coaches will explain to the parents clearly all the costs that are involved.
