Register for 2016 Today

Harlem Little League is happy to announce that we’re opening registration for the Spring 2016 season as of Monday, October 5! Registration will remain open until all slots are filled.

Everyone who registers on time is guaranteed a space on a team. Once registration closes, we will start a waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis. To be notified of upcoming registrations, please join our email list.

New Players must:

  1. Mail or email a copy of proof of age.
  2. Mail or email a copy of proof of where you live or attend school.
  3. All new players with a league age of 7 or older must attend a skills assessment.

Returning Players must:

  1. Register each year.
  2. Have played the spring season of the previous year.

2016 Fees

The registration fee is $100. The registration fee covers the cost of your child’s uniform and playing equipment except gloves and athletic cups. Our fees are kept deliberately low (lower than that of other leagues) in an attempt to make it possible for everyone to play. Because no child is denied admission because of a lack funds, we encourage everyone to pay what they can. To request financial aid or a scholarship, please click here.

Eligibility Requirements

Age: Little League Baseball has again adjusted its age-determination date. Harlem Little League will offer T-ball and baseball for boys and girls ages 5-12. Most players will use now use August 31, 2016 as their age-determination date; a few older players will still use April 30, 2016 as their age-determination date. For more information and to determine your child’s league age, please click here.

In 2015, Harlem Little League broke its playing divisions into the following categories:

  • T-Ball Division ages 5-6
  • Rookie Division ages 7-8
  • Triple A Division ages 9-10
  • Major Division ages 11-12

Harlem Little League has the ability to adjust our divisions to best serve our population. A decision on our divisions HAS NOT been made for 2016, but we will do our best to ensure minimal impact on our athletes. As always, our organizational goal is to build big league citizens, not big league ballplayers.

At this time, softball is not offered. If you have any interest in softball, please email [email protected].

Residence: Little League Baseball, Inc. approves Harlem Little League’s boundaries. Players who live or attend school within the area of 110th to 120th Streets from Frederick Douglass Boulevard to Fifth Avenue or 120th to 160th Streets, river to river are eligible. First-time players should check to see if we are your local Little League. To find your neighborhood chartered Little League, please click here.

A player will be considered to reside within our boundaries if:

  1. Parents are living together and residing within the boundaries, OR;
  2. Either of the player’s parents (or his/her court appointed legal guardian) resides within the boundaries.

Financial Aid

The League will waive all or part of the registration fee if you need financial assistance. No child will be turned away from Harlem Little League because of an inability to pay. Therefore, you should register your child on time and not let a lack of funds stop you from registering.

We encourage families to pay at least a portion of the fee for each child. Our fees are kept deliberately low (lower than that of other leagues) in an attempt to make it possible for everyone to play. The actual cost to run this program is about $175 per player. If you need financial assistance, please let us know what amount, if any, you can contribute by clicking on this link to request financial aid. All information will be kept confidential.

Skills Assessments

Skills Assessments will be held Saturday, February 20 at the Grand Slam Batting Cages (478 E. Tremont Avenue) from noon-3pm. All players new to Harlem Little League with a league age of 8 or older are expected to attend. This is NOT a tryout, merely an opportunity for our coaches to evaluate a child's skills so that we can best try and balance our team assignments.
