It was 1990 when the Nor-Gwyn Packers ruled the roost after downing Norristown three games to two in the finals. On Wednesday, August 17, 2017 they did it again, but this time it was a three-game sweep.

Daryl Clark doubled home Dave Tatoian in the first inning, and Michael Knipe's fourth-inning single sent Jason Mills home with what turned out to be the title-clinching run.

The Diamonds got one back in the bottom of the inning when Sean Phelan homered to right field, but that was the last time either team scored.

Joe Harris allowed only three hits in the 2-1 victory that had Packers manager Tony DiBricida all aglow.  "It only takes one thing to spark a team, and Jason got it started for us and it snowballed from there," said the veteran skipper, referring to the dramatic three-run seventh-inning home run Mills hit on a 3-2 count and the team trailing Ambler 2-0 in Game 3 of the semifinals.

"The pitching took over after that.  We had complete games in five of the six games we played."
