Tri-Regions Top 30 of 2020 (Updated)

(By: AlamoCityHoops Staff)

The high school calendar year is now upon us, and our staff has updated our Top 30 rankings for the 2020 class in the Texas Tri-Regions. One word would sum up this class, "Change." Three top prospects, Breon Thompson, Braelon Seals, and Derek Luna have all transferred out, but have been replaced with an infusion of talent at the top.

Speaking of talent at the top, Greg Brown (Vandergrift HS) is a 5 Star, national talent, ranked as high as the 5th best prospect in the country. His 6'7" frame, super athleticism, slashing ability, range from very deep, and underrated defensive impact, is why he's coveted by almost all high majors across the board.

Michael Jefferson (Waco Midway HS), a recent transfer to the CenTX, vaults all the way to the second spot. Is an extremely versatile prospect who can play multiple positions, 1 through 3. Great vision, always plays with his head up, above average handles, and will nail it from the outside with ease. Has a Tulsa offer and plenty of programs in high gear behind him.

The best point guard in the Tri-Regions, and one of the best in the entire state is Jamal Shead (Manor HS). Is a true point guard in every sense of the word, a  floor general who makes your entire team better with passing, direction, scoring, and leadership. At the drop of the dime he'll torch the nets with buckets, from inside or out, with range. Holds offers from Texas State and Drexel.

Another incoming transfer shoots up the rankings, in power forward Godsgift Ezedinma (Waco Midway HS). The 6'7" big man also now at Midway, is a tough guard down low and has the skill-set to face up and drive, or use his soft touch in the mid range. Will also hit the set 3-pointer, and has a big impact defensively, hitting the boards on both ends, and blocking shots. Has a Tulsa offer.

Rounding out our Top 5 is the sharp shooting combo guard, Caleb Golden (Cedar Ridge HS). Athletic guard who can play both spots, handles the ball well, and has no issues putting the ball in the hole.

For the 2020 class, the strength belongs to the CenTX, owning the Top 5, and 7 of the Top 10. The overall breakdown is the CenTX with 14 prospects in the rankings, San Antonio is nipping at it's heels with 13, and WestTX has 3.
