Futsal refs must be 16 years old or older. Exceptions can be made by calling Inside Sports. All referees must be certified. Futsal certification is not nearly as intense as the outdoor certification.  It is more of an orientation. We expect potential refs to already know the rules of soccer, so we emphasize the differences for refereeing Futsal. New referees will attend an orientation of about 2 to 2-1/2 hours to learn those differences as well as policies and procedures specific to Inside Sports. Also covered will be how to schedule yourself for games.  Returning referees must attend a half hour (approximately) orientation to update paperwork and go over any potential new policies and procedures from previous sessions. All referees will need to fill out a yearly contract, background check and tax paperwork.

The games are 1 hour long, and are indoors, out of the cold, rain or heat.

The Inside Sports Board of Directors has voted to revamp the referee pay schedule starting November 30, 2018.

Referees officiating Under 8 and Under 10 league games will be paid $15 as lead and $13 as assistant per game.
Referees officiating the Under 12 and Under 14 league games will be paid $17 as lead and $15 as assistant per game
Referees officiating the high school league will be paid $19 per game as lead, and $17 as the assistant.
Referees officiating the adult coed league will be paid $21 per game and $19 as the assistant per game.
