11/12YO Baseball Notice for Tryouts Attendance

Hello parents,
We currently have 100 of 108 registration slots filled for the 11/12YO Draft Division of the spring season. We will have nine teams. An odd number of teams means eight of the nine teams will play every Saturday and one other weekday. Each week a ninth team, with an odd number, will play two weekday games. Unless head coaches have specific scheduling requests, a team should expect that two games during the week to occur no more than twice during the season as we will rotate that weekly. This does not include any rain out schedule adjustments.

The nine head coaches are Brian Overton, Mark Howell, William Lawson, Clint Coffman, Jeremy Wright, David Komar, Scott Shepard, Jaime Settles and Chris Hames. We create our rosters through coaches starting with six (protected) players and complete the remainder through a draft. The protected six include coaches sons. Those not coaches sons must have requested the head coach during registration to be one of the protected six. Or you can update your registration requests now by logging into your account and clicking on the crayon icon to the right of your player. Make sure you click "update" at the bottom of the screen.

Our goal is to make the teams as even as possible. As such, to complete our draft, every player including coaches sons and other protected players must have a skill assessment rating. We have that already from the coach exit ratings from 2015 for all of our players except the following 11 players:

These 11 will need to attend the skill assessment session on the afternoon of Saturday, February 13th. We will firm up those details in the next few days. Please note that the assessment takes less than one hour for a player.

And please understand we know many of our coaches have additional players they want on their team beyond their six. We typically are able to work through that. Please refer to our Key Dates link on our website for other activities occurring. Please note we (or I) am one day late with this notice. Thanks for your patience.
