The Pride Builds Strong Momentum with Hard Work at Ultimate Cup '14

Loudoun Soccer's elite U-17 Girls took the field this weekend at the beautiful River City SportsPlex in Richmond, Virginia competing hard throughout the weekend netting a 2-1 match play record.  With an impressive 5-2 goal differential during the course of three games over two days, The Pride offensive machine continues to develop momentum with fast strike opportunities, counters from both the defensive and midfield and hustle across the board.

Saturday morning, with great weather on the horizon, the Pride masterfully gained their first win in a 1-0 battle that showed a pretty dominating performance of control and ball striking during the 80 minute match.  With a bounce here and there, the match easily could have ended 3 or 4 Nil.  The ladies only loss came in a disappointing second game on Saturday at the 76 minute during a highly contested match in all phases of the game.  The 1-Nil loss and more importantly how the soccer club rebounded on Sunday morning demonstrated the players enthusiasm for the game and each other in a very strong showing.

Sunday's match started slow, but quickly the Pride showed they are capable of counter punching with an excellent volley down the left wing by Alexandra "Alex" Stanford playing a through ball to striker Kayla Abel who with a nifty left to right cross found the foot of midfielder Christina Carlston.  Christina drilled the ball into the back of the net with emphasis for a 1-Nil lead with nearly 70 minutes left in the match.  The team never looked back coasting to a 4-1 win to end the weekend on a very strong note with a dominating performance.

Congratulations Coach Dave and the Pride!!
