The Fusion U10 girl’s headed into the tournament as the #1 seed and were hungry to reach the finals with a chance to sweep the regular season title & win the fall tournament!
The girls lined up against Norton in their semi-final game and did what they had done all season long, played like a TEAM! They put six shots into the back of the net and secured their shot at a chance to take the tournament later in the day against Ravenna.
With the final all set, the girls quickly took control of the game and put Ravenna under pressure. As the half came to a close our girls were up 3-0! The 2nd half was a just as the 1st had been and when the final whistle blew the Fusion U10 girls were 2014 GAASA regular season & tournament champions, with a final score of 4-1.
“The defense played great in both games, giving up only one goal”, commented Coach Kelly. “Our offensive game has stepped up by crossing and drop passes. Everyone played well today and their hard work paid off with a win of the division and playoffs. She continues, “I am very proud of the girls’ teamwork, support, and friendship that was clear to everyone watching our games today.”
This group achieved amazing things this session and most importantly player development was at the core.
