Livermore Fusion SC: The Premier Program U15
“Performance
Stage 1”
Game-Related Exercises Used to Teach
Complex Team Tactics in the 4 Phases of
Attack, Defense, and Transition
Maroon
(most competitive), Gold and Black teams are formed following player
placements. U15 teams train three times per week, once in an academy format and
twice separately with their teams. The primary focus for academy sessions is
specific attention to technical and athletic abilities that emphasize on muscle
regeneration. The two team sessions focus on positional development, small
group concepts by line (GK> Defense> Midfield> Forward) and team
tactics in the FUSION system of play: 1-4-3-3.
Team attacking
tactics are broken down into 4 phases:
Phase 1 -
Playing out of defensive third of the field
Phase 2 -
Playing through middle third of the field
Phase 3 -
Playing into opponents defensive third
Phase 4 -
Creating opportunities to score
Team defending
tactics are broken down into 4 phases:
Phase 1 -
Confronting the ball in attacking third
Phase 2 -
Gaining ball possession in middle third
Phase 3 -
Denying ball into defensive third
Phase 4 -
Denying opportunities to score
TRANSITION
moments in the game:
1 - WE have the
ball to THEY have the ball
2 - THEY have
the ball to WE have the ball
Teams master
their FUSION style of play: control, creative synergy and esteem. Training for
game-related situations in “Performance Stage 1” introduces specific match
rehearsal based on analysis of opponents.
