  • NO BASEBALL BATS ARE PERMITTED AT ANY TIME, SOFTBALL BATS MUST BE USED
  • NO PROFANITY ALLOWED AT ANY TIME. VIOLATORS MAY BE ASKED TO LEAVE
  • The length of games is a maximum 80 minutes (1hour and 20 minutes) No new innings will be permitted after 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes) has expired. The umpire will monitor the game times and have the official say
  • The final score after 9 innings (or the maximum complete innings that was played if short of nine) will constitute the winner, but it is highly encouraged to keep playing for the allotted timeframe if the 9 innings is reached much sooner then the permitted time. Please play as long as possible and substitute as often as possible so that everyone gets to play
  • Females will hit a hard 11” softball while the males will hit a 12” “mush-ball”
  • Pitch heights are 6’ minimum and 10’ maximum from ground level
  • Pitching distance to home plate will be 45 feet. Base paths will be 60 feet in length
  • The Home team’s scorebook is the official scorebook. The HOME team is to use the 3rd base side dugout.
  • A team that cannot field the proper amount of gendered players will forfeit the game by a score of 1-0. It is encouraged for the opposition to lend players if applicable so that a game may still be played although the winner has already been determined. In other words…just make it work in order to play a little softball that afternoon.
  • THE UMPIRES DECISIONS ARE FINAL

Fielding Rules

  • 5 men and 5 women in the field. You are permitted to have more women then men but never more men then women in the field. Eight (8) players of the correct gender minimum to start a game (at least 4 females)
  • <st1:place w:st="on">Battery (Pitcher/Catcher) must be of opposite gender. One male and one female
  • Minimum of two males and two females in infield (between 1st, 2nd, SS, 3rd base positions) and outfield at all times (Unless more females then males are being used). The battery does not count against these numbers
  • Four (4) outfielders must start from the outfield grass for all batters both male and female until the pitch is hit
  •  Sliding at home plate will not be permitted. Base runner’s MUST use the back of the strike mat on close plays at the plate. The catcher will stand on the white plate itself and the runner will pass behind to score
  • Sliding is NOT permitted at home plate but IS permitted at the other three bases. Please keep it safe!!
  • Home plate as well as all parts of the strike mat are considered part of home plate for scoring purposes only

At - Bat Rules

  • A “Strike Zone” mat will be used. Any legal pitch that contacts the mat will be called a strike
  • Batter’s count will begin with a 0-0 count
  • No bunting allowed
  • Batting order must alternate between male and female or vice-versa. Women may bat back to back but not males
  • Your batting order may consist of all team members present at any given game. You must still alternate between male and females though. Females will most likely bat more often then the males as they will need to fill the required female spots throughout the batting order. Everyone gets the opportunity to bat regardless of if you have played the field yet or not. This is a new rule for 2009.
  • A foul ball with two strikes is registered as an out. The umpire will notify batter to “keep ball fair”
  • A walked male batter will go directly to second base and the following female batter will take her turn at batting. All runners will move up (bumped) one base if required by the walked male batter. New for 2010
  • Courtesy runners (for injured players only) are permitted but only once per inning (unless multiple injuries). The courtesy runner must be of the same gender and the most recent batter who made an out. You are not permitted to choose your courtesy runners
  • Rainouts will be addressed at the coaches meeting. We may only make up games after 2 rainouts per team.
  • Rainouts – Call an organizer below to check on rainouts. Coaches will need to notify their teams
            • Dave Andrews 864-5595
            • Kevin Bilancini 988-2963
